Although Texas allows businesses to use many of the same forms year to year, the TaxAct program does not support or allow business customers to use a different year’s product for the filing of another year’s report. A 2019 Federal return is needed to complete a 2020 Texas Franchise Tax Report. The 2020 report actually uses 2019 Federal numbers, but is labeled 2020 because it is filed during the 2020 calendar year.
