Remove TaxAct Online Return

From within your TaxAct account, you can remove any tax return that you've filed with TaxAct.

You can also submit a privacy request, which will remove certain personal information from your account.

Note: 
  • Once you remove a return from your account, you won't be able to restore it.
  • You won't be able to remove a return if:
    • You've already e-filed or printed that return.
    • You've already e-filed an extension for that return.
    • You've paid any product fees associated with that return, even if those fees have been refunded.

To remove a return from your TaxAct account:
  1. Sign in to your online TaxAct account, then locate the tile for the return you want to remove.
  2. At the top right of the return's tile, click the three-dot icon, then click Delete return.
  3. In the pop-up that appears, click Yes, Delete to confirm the removal of this return from your account.

To remove personal information from your TaxAct account:

  1. Sign in to your online TaxAct account, then scroll down.
  2. In the Data Privacy Request tile, click Make a Request.
  3. On the next screen, click Make a Privacy Request.
  4. Follow the prompts to answer the questions in the pop-ups.
