Form 4972 - Tax Lump Sum Distributions

The TaxAct® program supports Form 4972 Tax on Lump-Sum Distributions as a fillable form.

Online Navigation Instructions
  1. Sign in to your TaxAct Online return.
  2. Click Tools to expand the category, then click Forms Assistant.
  3. Click to expand the FEDERAL Forms folder, then click to expand the Forms and Schedules folder.
  4. Click Form 4972 - Taxpayer [or Spouse] - Tax on Lump-Sum Distributions.
  5. Click Add to create a new copy of the form or click Review to review a form already created.
  6. Enter the information directly on the form.
Desktop Navigation Instructions
  1. Start your TaxAct Desktop program and click the Forms icon in the toolbar OR click Return from the drop-down, place the cursor over Review, then click Forms.
  2. Expand the Federal folder, then expand the Forms and Schedules folder.
  3. Scroll down and double-click Form 4972 - Taxpayer [or Spouse] - Tax on Lump-Sum Distributions.
  4. Enter the information directly on the form.
