Review Banking Information for e-Filed Return

If you have e-filed your return, you can confirm the banking information that was included. Banking information may be used for: 

  • direct deposit of a refund,
  • direct debit (withdrawal) of an amount due,
  • direct debit of estimated tax payments.

To verify the banking details provided to the IRS and/or state, follow these instructions (steps vary depending on whether you are using TaxAct online or on the desktop). 

Online Navigation Instructions

For a return with a directly deposited refund:
  1. Open your TaxAct return.
  2. On the left navigation pane, click on Print Center to expand the list, then click Custom Print.
  3. Under Forms and Schedules, choose Federal Form 8888 - [Your Name].
  4. Under Documents and Worksheets, choose Federal Bank Account Worksheet - Bank Account: and Federal E-filing Information - [Your Name].
  5. Click Print, then click the PDF link. The item will appear in a PDF read-only format. At that time, you can click the Printer icon on the screen to actually print, or close the window without printing.

For returns with an amount owed, or estimated payments, follow the steps below:

  1. Open your TaxAct return. 
  2. On the left navigation pane, click on Print Center to expand the list, then click Custom Print.
  3. Under Forms and Schedules, choose Federal Basic Information - [Your Name].
  4. Click Print, then click the PDF link. The item will appear in a PDF read-only format. At that time, you can click the Printer icon on the screen to actually print, or close the window without printing.

Note. If you see a message indicating you have not paid your return fees, click the View/Pay your return fees link, which will direct you through the Paper Filing steps. Continue through the screens until you have processed the payment for your product fees and then repeat the steps to print.


Desktop Navigation Instructions

For a return with a directly deposited refund:
  1. Log into your TaxAct Desktop program, then click Forms in the top left corner.
  2. Under the Federal section, open the Forms and Schedules folder.
  3. Scroll down and open Form 8888.

For returns that have an amount owed or estimated payments set up, follow the steps below:

  1. Log into your TaxAct Desktop program, then click Forms in the top left corner.
  2. Under the Federal section, open the Informational Worksheets folder.
  3. Open the Bank Account Information form.
