To access a return for the current-year or two prior year tax returns in TaxAct:

1. Sign in to your TaxAct Account online.
2. Click My Tax Returns, then click the 20XX Returns dropdown (XX represents the last two digits of the tax year you are looking for).
3. Your returns are listed starting with the most recently edited return.  Click Open Return next to the return you want to access.

To download a PDF of a return of a prior year that was completed with TaxAct:

1. Sign in to your TaxAct Account online.
2. Click My Tax Returns, then click the 20XX Returns dropdown (XX represents the last two digits of the tax year you are looking for).
3. Click the Actions dropdown, then click Download Return as PDF .
4. The return will be downloaded as a .pdf which can be opened on a device that has a web browser or PDF reader.

Note. TaxAct online only allows downloading returns as far back as 2018 and editing returns as far back as 2022. If you need access to other returns, see IRS Tax Topic 156.

If using the TaxAct Desktop or TaxAct Professional Editions, TaxAct doesn't archive returns on your TaxAct Account.  For more information, see:
