What is the Refer-a-Friend Program?

The TaxAct Refer-a-Friend Program allows you to earn an Amazon Gift Card for every new-to-TaxAct friend you refer who files a paid federal return. The gift card value depends on the offer at the time of referral.

Your friends also save—they receive at least 20% off any paid federal product.

 

How Does the Refer-a-Friend Program Work?

  1. Visit our Refer-a-Friend website webpage.
  2. Enter your email address so we can send your rewards.
  3. Send a referral email or post a referral link on Facebook or Messenger.
  4. Each referral generates a unique share link that tracks your referrals.
  5. If a new TaxAct customer uses your link and discount code to file a paid federal return, you earn your reward.

 

How Many People Can I Refer?

You can earn rewards for up to 20 referrals per tax season.

 

Who is Eligible to Participate?

Anyone can refer a friend! However, to earn a reward, your referral must:

  • Be a new TaxAct customer (did not file with TaxAct last year).
  • Use a paid TaxAct product (free returns do not qualify).

 

How Will My Friend Know I Referred Them?

The email you send comes from your email address and includes instructions on how to claim their reward.

 

When Will I Receive My Reward?

Rewards are sent within 30 days after your friend completes their paid return using your referral code.

 

How Will I Know When I Earn a Reward?

Once your eligible friend completes their return, we’ll send you an email with your Amazon Gift Card.

 

What If I Accidentally Deleted My Reward Email?

No problem - send us an email, and we’ll resend your reward. Be sure to provide the email address you used for the program.

 

What If I Referred a Friend, They Filed, But I Never Received My Reward?

If you believe you should have received a reward but haven’t:

  1. Email us with the email address you used to register - send us an email.
  2. Include the email address of your referred friend so we can check their status.

 

How Do I Unsubscribe From Refer-a-Friend Emails?

  • Each email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Alternatively, contact TaxAct's Service and Support team page to request removal.
  • If you received a referral email from a friend, note that TaxAct does not send spam or sell email addresses.

 

Are There Any Restrictions or Rules?

Yes, the program has a few guidelines:

  • Limit: One (1) reward per valid referral, up to 20 referrals per season.
  • Legal Compliance: Referrals must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • No Spam: Users may not send unsolicited emails, post in unrelated forums, or use any misleading referral methods.
  • No Self-Referrals: You cannot refer yourself.
  • No Guaranteed Delivery: Rewards are not guaranteed to be delivered within a specific timeframe.
