Once you receive your order confirmation and create your username and password, you can download and install your TaxAct Professional and Desktop Editions (you can also download and install any previously purchased software (back to 2017) at no additional charge).

1. Sign in to your TaxAct Account online, then click Orders and Downloads.
2. Click View next to the product, then click Download next to the federal or state program you want to download (the federal program needs to be downloaded before the state program).
3. The .exe file will appear at the bottom of your screen.  When it is done downloading, click the file.exe to start installation.
4. On the screen titled Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?, click Yes.
5. Continue with the on-screen steps to complete the installation.
