Downloading and Installing TaxAct

Once you receive your order confirmation and create your username and password, you can download and install your TaxAct Professional and Desktop Editions (you can also download and install any previously purchased software (back to 2013) at no additional charge).

  1. Sign in to your TaxAct Account online, then click Orders and Downloads.
  2. Click View next to the name of the product you want to download, then click Download next to the name of the specific federal or state program you want to download.
    1. Note: You'll need to download the federal program before you download any state program.
  3. Once your download is complete, open the downloaded file.
  4. On the screen titled Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?, click Yes.
  5. Continue with the on-screen steps to complete the installation.
