We offer the TaxACT Consumer 1040 program in two different versions. We offer TaxACT Online (Over the Web) and TaxACT Desktop (Download/CD). We have provided information regarding the program differences and the program pricing below.
TaxACT Online (Over the Web)
The TaxACT Online program is intended to be used for one taxpayer's return. Each taxpayer needs to create their own unique Username and Password. The account is accessed by logging in via our website. When using TaxACT Online, you are charged for the use of the product you have selected at the time you choose to print, view a PDF, or electronically file the return(s). There is not an additional fee to print or e-file. We have listed the pricing structure directly below:

TaxACT Desktop (Download/CD)
Whether you are preparing just your own return or if you are assisting a few of your family members with preparing their returns, one of the TaxACT Desktop programs will meet your needs. The TaxACT Desktop program is downloaded/installed on to your computer's hard drive. As the desktop program can be used to prepare multiple returns, there is an additional charge to electronically file. There is not an additional charge to print returns. *One Federal electronic filing is included free of charge. A maximum of five (5) federal returns can be electronically filed with the TaxACT Deluxe Desktop program. The additional four (4) federal e-files are $7.95 each. Each state electronic filing is $7.95 and you are limited to five (5). You can also prepare and print an unlimited number of returns.
Note: The Free Federal Edition only allows for the preparation of one return.
