Professional Editions - e-Filing Payment Methods

As a Professional Preparer, you can choose different options of paying for e-filing with TaxAct Professional software. If you have not already verified your EFIN information with TaxAct, see EFIN Verification Process.

Unlimited e-Filing
If you decide to purchase a professional bundle, unlimited e-filing is included.

Pre-Paid e-Filing
If you are interested in Pre-Paid e-filing, contact our professional sales line at (319) 536-3571.

Setup
After purchasing a bundle that includes the Unlimited e-filing, or Pre-Paid e-filing credits, follow these steps to enable e-filing in your program.
  1. In your TaxAct Professional Edition program, click Preparer in the upper menu bar.
  2. Choose Edit My Preparer Information. (Admin users can go to Preparer > Master Information > Preparers to make edits for other preparers.)
  3. On the Preparer Info tab, ensure that your PTIN has been entered. 
  4. On the Electronic Filing Info tab, enter your EFIN and select PIN type and choose your Practitioner PIN.
  5. If you do not have unlimited e-filing, enter a Default Credit Card here (optional).
  6. After making all entries, click Save and Close.

Note: The Practice ID matches your professional program to your TaxAct account, so you must sign into your program with the correct username.


IMPORTANT! The unlimited e-filing begins after the unlimited e-filing has been paid in full. There will be no refunds given for any individual returns filed prior to purchasing the unlimited e-filing.
