The TaxAct programs are released as early release versions and also as final versions. 

Early Release Versions - Released in October

Early Release Versions - Released in December

  • Federal 1040: Free, Basic+, Deluxe+, Premier+, and Self-Employed+
  • Business 1065 / 1120 / 1120S / 990
  • Estates & Trusts 1041

Final Versions - Released in January

  • Free, Basic+, Deluxe+, Premier+, and Self-Employed+
  • Estates & Trusts 1041
  • Business Sole Proprietor /1065 / 1120 / 1120S / 990
  • TaxAct State Programs (1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, and 1120S)*
  • Professional Editions 1040 / 1041 / 1065 / 1120 / 1120S / 990 

*The state programs begin releasing in early January and continue to release throughout the months of January and February. Please view our list of state release dates.
