If you recently updated your Social Security Number (SSN) and would like to file your return electronically, allow at least two weeks before submitting your return. This will allow the IRS time to update their files with the Social Security Administration.
If it is nearing the federal filing deadline and you owe money to the IRS, print and file a paper return to be sure your return is filed on time.
